A history-themed boat trip among the islands
An incredibly beautiful boat trip visiting less well-known historic sites and focusing on local culture. Hear tales of the herring era, which brought speakeasies and other types of shady businesses. Listen to stories about herring fishing, constables, bootleggers, fishermen and seafarers. As we make our way past rocks, islands and beaches, we journey from the herring era of the 19th century to the mined waters of the second world war.
More about the boat trip
Many of the stories are completely true, others perhaps less so, but still very entertaining. Tales and legends from the north of Bohuslän and about the people who lived on the islands. All mixed with coffee and something a little stronger.
The fisherman’s son joins the tour as a troubadour, using performances, drinking songs and communal singing to guide the tour. A meal from the menu of the day is served onboard.
Please note that this guided tour must be pre-booked before 12 pm on the day of departure. Bookings must also be made for children under 6, as the boat has a maximum passenger capacity.
This trip is offered in partnership with Strömstad’s History Society.
