Winter in the RV-park
You find our campsite just outside of Strömstad, right where Kosterhavet begins – a perfect point of departure for daytrips along the Swedish West Coast. Try out a swim in the cold sea and then get straight into the sauna or hot tub to heat up. Bring your friends and have a barbecue at the shelter or enjoy the heat from our fireplace in the BBQ hut. Do you love seafood? You will not get disappointed, Strömstad has the best seafood! Have your dinner in our boathouse and finish up the evening in the sauna.
The areas where you can park your motorhome for the winter are hard-surfaced, either with asphalt or gravel. Choose between The motorhome Park, Solsidan, Beach or Terrace. Rödspättan and Big Rig are able for both campers and caravans. The janitors at Lagunen takes care of the snow clearance and the sanding of roads during winter. We have staff available in the reception all year around and all of our facilities are open every day, except for the restaurant. When it is closed we suggest you take a look at our collaboration with various restaurants in town, which offers take away. Also, the seafood tastes the best during winter.

When you’re not in your motorhome it’s safely parked here. Have your car parked in a comfortable reach to your camping pitch. You keep your spot during the whole period.

Nothing beats a party in the Swedish archipelago with camper-friends or your association, but it can be a struggle getting there. Let us help you organize the ultimate party or meet up on the Swedish West Coast. Boat safari, BBQ night or your favorite tradition for up to 150 persons. Each meet up is unique but with our experience and knowledge we’ll fix pretty much any suggestions.
At Lagunen we’ve arranged meet ups for camper clubs, vintage cars, orchestras, diving clubs etc. The meet ups can be held all year around, and some parts of the year we have two big marquees with room for 120-130 seated guests. A party right by the ocean, Kosterhavet, is something you’ll never forget.

Technique course with guide at Lagunen
Each Saturday from early spring until late fall you have the opportunity to bike together with a certified MTB-guide during your stay. We bike together in the Bike Park, a fun park with several challenges. During this guided introduction you’ll learn the best technique on taking turns, how to get speed by “pumping”, how you should distribute the weight and a lot more! Follow a long on a fun adventure in the Bike Park – each Saturday from early spring until late fall!

It’s included to borrow full suspension mountain bikes – Specialized, as well as helmet and knee protection.
How to dress?
Biking is an intensive activity and you will be sweaty – have clothes you don’t really care too much about. Follow the layer over layer principal and avoid cotton closest to the body. A warming sweater and a rain jacket can be good to have during brakes. If you have shoes with a flat sole, use them. They have the best grip on the pedals! So, rather old converse than running shoes.
Bad weather?
We’ll adapt the course after the weather conditions but we generally don’t cancel if it isn’t suddenly abundantly snow falling.

MTB with guide
Give the family a unique MTB cycling adventure on the Swedish West Coast. At Lagunen Bike Park everyone can bike and enjoy themselves, regardless of whether you have prior knowledge. The vacation package consist of a cabin in the area called Bergsbyn, a MTB-guide in the bike park and lunch for the day when the activity take place. Together with our certified MTB-guide, adults and children will quickly get the hang of safe and fun biking. Our educated guide will adapt the introduction after the groups’ level. When the introduction is done it’s time for lunch which is hotdogs over an open fire. During your time with the guide you also have the chance to head out in the forest and try your new skills on the MTB tracks. It’s a great way to explore cycling in Sweden in a new way!

In the Bike Park you choose the phase. When we bike together we’ll adapt the tempo after the group.
Check-in
Check in at the reception from 15.00. You’ll get the key to the cabin, a map of the area and other information you need during your stay.
Bike Park on the Swedish West Coast
The Bike park is parted in six areas, all different from each other with various levels of difficulties.
On the area there are three “Jump Lines” with various levels of difficulties for mountain bikes. If you want to jump higher and further, take the toughest line. Or, take an easier level. You choose!
We also have “Flow Trails” where you bike a track with several turns and humps. It’s sort of a Skicross trail but for mountain bikes. As your technique develop you’ll be able to use the humps and turns to get speed and jump.
In the “Pump Track”, reminding of a rollercoaster for mountain bikes, you can practice to get speed by “pumping”. It’s a technique perfect for biking on uneven terrain. Then it’s easier to get speed without pedaling.
“MTB–trail” is a track which will raise your pulse and test your ability on turns. Everyone can bike it, but the more speed you have on your MTB the more difficult it is.
Finally we also have a “Kids Zone” perfect for the children’s first time on a mountain bike. As well as a “Skills Zone” where you can practice specific things, such as biking over obstacles, practice on balance and much more.

Information about the vacation package with MTB and guide
The cabin you’ll live in is cozy and tastefully decorated. Be close to the boathouses, the beach and woods. The cabins are powered by geothermal heating and photovoltaic. Therefore, you can sleep here with good environmental conscious. The cabin is approx. 30 sqm and have room for the whole family. There are two separate bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with one bed and one bunk bed. The cabin is also equipped with a kitchen, dishwasher, microwave, bathroom with a shower and a living room. The private balcony is perfect when you need a moment in the sun.

Glöm inte hjälmen om du kommer med egen mountainbike, det är ett krav på våra kurser. Ett par tunna handskar är bra skydd mot markkänning och knäskydd rekommenderas.
Hur ska jag klä mig?
Cykling är en intensiv aktivitet och du kommer att svettas – så klä dig i oömma kläder. Följ lagerprincipen och undvik bomull närmast kroppen. En värmande tröja och regnjacka kan vara skönt under pauserna. Välj gärna skor med platt sula, de greppar bra på pedalerna. Hellre gamla basketskor än löpardojor alltså!
Dåligt väder?
Vi anpassar turen efter väderförhållanden men vi ställer generellt inte in annat än vid plötsligt, ymnigt snöfall.

Midsummer at Lagunen
Celebrate a traditional Swedish Midsummer on the West Coast!
Celebrate midsummer on the Swedish West Coast! At Lagunen you can celebrate a true traditional Midsummer with the family, of course arranged after the current governmental restrictions, which we hopefully won’t have this summer. Put on your flower wreath, eat the most tasty cake filled with strawberries and follow along the ring-dances around the maypole. We’ll guarantee laughter!

In our bike park there are opportunities for a pacey midsummer! Regardless of whether you have previous knowledge, this is for anyone looking for lots of fun. Practice turns or tricks at the technical area or learn how to get speed without pedaling. If you want to feel the best flowy feeling, try our flow-track! There is something for everyone, a perfect activity for the whole family!
Cook at our BBQ-sites
At Lagunen we have around 30 different BBQ sites and firepits, and also a pizza oven. While staying here you have free access to firewood. Some of our BBQ sites belongs to a certain accommodation. For example, if you book a campsite in the Motorhome Park at Solsidan 1-14, each pitch has their own firepit with a cooking grate as well.
Go on a boat tour to Sweden’s only Marine National Park
Go to Koster for a day during your Sweden vacation. Rent a bike or hike in a nature impossible to find anywhere else. Choose one of the many beautiful beaches for a midsummer swim. After a morning packed with fun activities there are plenty of nice restaurants to try and have a tasty bite of food. If you feel like going to Koster during your stay here, just head to the reception and we’ll help you with tickets.
Have dinner at Lagunen Kitchen & Bar
On the beachside you’ll find our restaurant with a magical view of the bay. Enjoy the afternoon sun with a cold drink and tasty food. Have you heard of the Swedish traditional shrimp sandwich? Try ours, with shrimps freshly caught a few minutes from Lagunen together with a cold beer. Everyone are welcomed to our restaurant, of course our four-legged friends as well!
Go kayaking, canoeing or stand-up paddling
With a SUP, kayak or canoe you can easily go everywhere and find real gems. Explore the archipelago by your own and you may get the chance to see a mackerel quickly swim by or a seal peaking up above the surface. Or stay closer to shore at Lagunen and see what you can find while you hear laughter from the beach.
Have a look around by bike
Between Lagunen and Strömstad and further afield there are many of Sweden’s most beautiful cycle lanes. Visit our reception and easily rent bikes and buy tickets to the ferries heading to Koster.

Kayaking on the West Coast is something everyone should try. Now is the chance to book our kayak-package! You’ll stay in our cabins called Bergsbyn, and we’ll give you tickets to the ferry heading to Koster where you find our partners Koster Adventures. They’ll provide you with modern and fully equipped kayaks. And along the tour you’ll stop for a Swedish fika in the nature of course. With their great knowledge and hospitality, you’ll have the best kayak experience!
Kosterhavet is Sweden’s first marine national park. Here you’ll find Sweden’s only coral reef and underwater life you won’t find anywhere else in the Swedish waters. Doesn’t that sound super cool? If you’re lucky, one of the national park’s friendly seals may join you on the adventure!

Who are Koster Adventures?
Koster Adventures is a family-owned kayak company at Koster. The family’s vision is to help as many as possible getting the chance to explore the best parts of the marine national park. Which of course is absolute best on a kayak. Janne is the father of the family, and one of the guides who will show you the marine national park. If it isn’t Janne, his son Gustav will take you on the adventure.
Gustav and Janne are excited to show their apple of their eyes, Kosterhavet! And of course too guide you and your company through a fantastic day!

Equipment
It’s included complete modern 3-layerd kayaks in biodegradable plastic. You may also borrow boots, gloves, life-vest during the tour. During the chilly months, as in May and September wetsuit is also included.
What to wear?
Kayaking is an intensive activity and you’ll sweat – so wear clothes you don’t care too much about. We recommend workout clothes, as example tights and t-shirt and swimwear underneath. A windproof jacket, cap and sunglasses is good to have with you as well. Bring a warm sweater for the snack break.
What happens when it’s too windy?
We adapt the tour after the weather conditions. Therefore, for safety reasons, the tour can be canceled if it’s too windy. The area where we kayak is located a bit out in the Koster archipelago and the weather can change quickly. Koster Adventures make the decision after their safety assessment. If we need to cancel the tour we’ll make that decision 24 hours before as the latest. You as our guest will have the money back for the day you were supposed to kayak. The cost for the accommodation will remain. If this would happen we’ll recommend you other activities you can do at Koster or closer to Lagunen.
Medical conditions
As participant you’re responsible of your medical condition. Inform us when you’re booking, as well as the guide before your departure if you have any physical or medical issues.
The youngest age to participate
The youngest age on participants is 12 years old. They should share a double kayak with their parent.

Stay at Lagunen, where a ferry will pick you up and bring you to an island called Furholmen. Have a seat in the cozy boathouse and enjoy the buffet filled with different types of pickled herring, cured salmon, ham, liver pâté, beet root salad and much more. During the evning you will not only have fantastic food, Fredrik Lundqvist, Strömstad’s own troubadour will sing traditional Christmas songs, as well as songs from the region. The wind howls, the rain lashes down, or the snow swirls over the islets… Welcome to our warm and cozy boathouse!
When you board the boat, you’re greeted with a warming mulled wine and gingerbread for the journey. Upon arriving at Furholmen, you’re welcomed by torchlights and candles. Inside the restaurant, it’s warm and inviting. Christmas music plays softly in the background, and the Christmas buffet is set. A wide selection of herring, nearly 40 different varieties of herring and mackerel from our own recipes, is ready to be enjoyed. Then comes the cold dishes like Christmas ham, roast beef, various sausages, pâtés, and much more. From the hot dishes, there’s Jansson’s Temptation, meatballs, ribs, and lutefisk. And of course, desserts follow: rice pudding, fruit salad, cheesecake, cookies, and candy.

Visit Sweden with your colleagues! In our modern cabins called “Bergsbyn” you’ll stay comfortably. Each cabin is 28 – 30 sqm and has its own fiber connection with high speed Wi-Fi and two separate bedrooms. Also, you’ll have a private balcony with the ocean and nature as neighbors. Cook in the kitchen equipped with dishwasher, fridge/ freezer and microwave. Have the comfort of parking your car right next to the cabin.
Being close to Strömstad you have the perfect starting position. With only three kilometers to town and three miles to the Norwegian border. From the road E6 you easily access Lagunen. Have your own suite with a living room and sofa, instead of a tiny hotel room. Each cabin are built with environmental friendly alternatives and the solar panels on the roof produces all the electricity being used.
