Paddle a kayak in Kosterhavet and stay at Lagunen
Kayaking on the West Coast is an experience everyone should have. Now you have the chance to book our kayak package! You stay at Lagunen in accommodation of your choice, and our partner Koster Adventures provides expertise and guides you to the complete kayak experience.
Kosterhavet is Sweden’s first marine national park, and here you’ll find Sweden’s only coral reef and marine animals that you won’t find anywhere else in Swedish waters. Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? Maybe you’ll be accompanied by one of the national park’s many grey seals?
GUIDED KAJAKTOUR AROUND TJÄLLESKÄREN
Guided Kayak Tour Around Tjälleskären (3-4 hours)
We paddle over two wild oyster banks where we can easily reach them from the kayaks. After about an hour of paddling, we go ashore at a suitable location where we offer coffee and snacks, and time for swimming or snorkeling. After the break, we paddle back towards Kyrkosund, and hopefully, we’ll see seals along the way. The tour is a total of 7-8 km depending on the weather of the day.

Prerequisites
No previous experience is required, but you must be able to swim.
Fika (Swedish Coffee Break)
A homemade fika will be served at a suitable and scenic location.
Check-in
Check-in takes place at the reception from 3:00 PM. You will receive the cabin key, a gate card, a map of the surrounding area, and any other information you need for your stay.
Transportation
You can reach the Koster boats via a roughly 4 km long walking and cycling path. Bicycles are available for rent at Lagunen if desired.

Who are Koster Adventures?
Koster Adventures is a family business located on South Koster. The family’s vision is to enable as many people as possible to experience Kosterhavet National Park in a safe and pleasant way by paddling kayaks in one of the world’s best kayaking waters. Gustav is the kayak guide and surfer who will take you on a safe and enjoyable kayak tour. If you are a larger group, Janne or Agneta will join as tail guides.
Koster Adventures, with Gustav, Janne & Agneta, looks forward to taking care of you and showing you their home environment – Kosterhavet National Park.
The price for the kayak experience itself is 1200 SEK per person in a double kayak. In addition to this, there is the cost of the accommodation you choose at Lagunen.
Equipment
Complete stable kayaks, shoes, gloves, wetsuits, and life jackets are provided during the kayak tour.
How should I dress?
Kayaking is an intense activity and you will sweat – so wear clothes that are comfortable to move in. We recommend clothes such as tights/workout clothes, swimwear underneath, workout t-shirts, and possibly a windbreaker. A cap and sunglasses can also be good to bring along. Bring a warm sweater for the coffee break.
What happens if it’s too windy?
We adapt the tour to the weather conditions. However, we may need to cancel the tour if it is too windy for safety reasons. The area we paddle in is located a bit out in the Koster Archipelago and the weather can therefore change quickly. Koster Adventures makes decisions based on their assessment of safety. If we need to cancel the tour, you as a guest will be refunded all costs for the kayak experience. Costs for accommodation remain. If this should happen, we will of course suggest other activities you can do on Koster or around Lagunen.
Medical conditions
As a participant, you have your own responsibility for your medical condition. Inform us at the time of booking and the guide before departure if you have any physical or medical conditions.
What is the minimum age for participants?
The minimum age for participants is 12 years old, and they should then share a double kayak with a guardian.
